Inspiration on Monday

via 1/2/3

Mondays are tough.  I just end up wishing the weekend was one day longer.  Yes, that would be ideal, 4 days on 3 days off.  It helps to force myself to get back into the grind, and wander around the interwebs hoping to find something to propel me through.  A quick Dali quote and a couple of images of the great Kate Moss seemed to do the trick.  Here's to next weekend.

City Bakery

I have been craving this since last weekend. I just may have to go back for more. Why not?
Happy weekend!

Weekend Musing

This makes me wish I were in Miami instead of in cold NYC.

However,  I will make the best of today.  Another event has occurred in my life, well in my family's life to remind me once again how important each moment is.  You don't have many, and to waste any of them is such a shame.  Life is so precious.  The times with the people that you love are precious.  So instead of wishing for the beach I will bask in the sunshine on this brisk day, laugh to myself at Mike's rambling frustration with eBay, order the shirt and blazer from J. Crew that I want even though my J. Crew card is almost maxed out, and love that I am alive and well.  Thank you Mary for the love that you bestowed upon my mom, and the spirit you have given to our family.   I feel like I knew you even though we had never met...and thank you for reminding me again to live life as I see fit, every moment and everyday.  I know you will continue to grace my mom with your positive presence and protect her in mind and body.

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things...

Unfortunately I have been in bed fighting of the flu, which has left me some time to find a couple of images and ideas to make me feel a bit better.  I am hoping to be back on my feet tomorrow.  Until then  I will be dreaming of these favorites:

Wasabi Bloody Mary?  I must try!

I love snow when it looks like this.

How Smart!

Such chic packaging!

Much Needed Weekend

Oh my goodness...this week was a doozy. I am SO glad to have time to laze about drinking cappuccino, reading, and not thinking about work. I hate that sometimes my whole life is consumed by work. It really leaves my mind to tired to ponder things that really matter, or consider beauty in daily life. This weekend I'm focused on that, so here is picture I found last night to start this off. Charlotte Gainsborough, who is almost 40 looking absolutely stunning. Have a beautiful weekend.

Monday Musing

Oh back to work for the first full week after the holiday break.  Sigh... It's always hard for me to transition from the excitement and bright lights of Christmas, to the dismal cold January weather in NYC.  So far (if you count one week as being far) so good though.  I have managed to remain positive, even when it pertained to getting out of bed this morning and starting the work day.

Since Mondays are hard, I decided to try and gather inspiration to keep my mind focused on the lovely things that i would like to incorporate in my life.  Here goes:

Note to Self, one of my favorite blogs opened a print shop today.  This would look amazing in a bathroom or dressing room.

No Expectations

Upon discussing resolutions with my mom before New Year's Day she came up with a great motto for the year, "No Expectations." So often the new year means goals that end up not being achieved and promises that aren't kept. Everyone hopes for a better year, but in reality fate always steps in, and life must abide. This year I have come up with some simple ideas that would make life in 2013 more enjoyable including blogging more often (about whatever comes to mind,) having nice dinners on Sunday, continuing morning green drinks, trying to be better with money (a never ending goal,) not letting things bother me so much because in the end "que sera sera, whatever will be will be," and if I don't have any expectations, I will be able to wholly accept the outcome of my daily life, and be happy with it.
