Weekend Wonders

With the first snow (mixed with rain and sleet) of the season happening on Saturday it seemed like the best idea was to stay indoors in our pajamas for most of the day.  It was so nice to have an excuse to do nothing but snuggle, waste time online, and watch movies.  Sunday we ventured out and browsed a couple of thrift stores looking for winter coats.  Then came home and cooked.  All in all a very nice weekend indeed!  As a side note, my dog Zeppelin eats kale...i know, very strange.

Weekend Love

via The Glamourai

I love Kirsten Dunst.  She's so classically chic!  Not to mention the stripes (of which I have a minor obsession) and an oversized blazer.  I adore everything about this image.

Alone

Odellon Redon. A Edgar Poe

Being alone and loneliness are strange things.  I don't spend a great deal of time alone really.  At work I am surrounded my people all day, living in NYC means there are millions of people walking in my footsteps, and I come home to a wildly excitable dog each evening.  All of this means that when I am alone I am lonely.  I enjoy peace and quiet, and have always been kind of a loner or one person kind of girl, but lately it seems like "alone" scares me.  I have found that in a city swarming with bodies, one can feel more alone than ever, and quiet stillness becomes eerie rather than peaceful.  Just throwing it out there in hopes that the feeling will subside after putting words on paper.

Weekend Wonders

This weekend was pretty laid back.  After combatting some technical difficulties on Saturday it was smooth sailing.  The rest was about cooking, eating, and snuggling!  I made a big dinner on Saturday complete with the first apple crisp of the season.  My favorite part is the way it makes our apartment smell while it's baking.  Fall seems like the perfect season for cooking and eating of course.  Zeppelin got in on the action as well.  His job was obviously guarding the dessert on the table, while I finished dinner.  Other than the fact that I had to go to work on Sunday, this weekend was just how I like weekends to be...warm, cozy, and lazy!

Back Again...

Another attempt to get in the swing of things.  This fall I have been less than inspired by fashion.  All my usual "go to's" if you will, haven't done it for me.  Of course there is always menswear inspired looks, which I have been leaning toward lately.  For me simple jeans, a blazer, and oxfords makes the perfect statement.  I tend to go between this look and a really drapey, lost in my clothes look.  Two opposing styles, but more on that later.  Here are a couple of snaps from the Karen Walker presentation, which does the menswear thing perfectly.  Gorgeous!
