For the past two years I have decorated our tree with vintage jewelry from my great grandma and grandmother's collections. It is the perfect opportunity to display such beautiful things, since they don't always make their way out during the year. This coupled with classic christmas music, childhood memories, and my mom mom's christmas aprons in my kitchen make me nostalgic. All of these things makes the spirit of my grandparents vividly come alive here. Some of my favorite memories are at Christmas time, when their house was decorated and warm, with my grandpa playing Christmas music in the living room, and chatting about his latest Christmas gift find. I miss him especially during this time of year.
We also did a bit of Christmas shopping this weekend as well. The store were bustling, and it felt good to feel the holiday energy alive and well. It's this energy that makes this time of year so special to me.

Last night after arriving home from our Thanksgiving festivities, we made a trip uptown to pick up Mike's boots at Barney's, and to see the amazing Bergdorf windows. The attention to detail is astounding!! Each window is a true work of art. IT feels so festive and warm on 5th Ave with all of the lights and decorations! It is truly a great time of year to live in Manhattan.

via j.crew.comThis weekend was spent enjoying some shopping, and relaxing at home since we have an action packed trip upstate for Thanksgiving planned. I splurged at J. Crew even though it was totally uncalled for (I had a coupon okay?!) I finally got a pair of moto boots, which I have been searching high and low for. I think these will be much easier to break in then the Frye engineer boots I have had my eye on. I also scored the Poppy King for J. Crew lipstick, which has been sold out for months! It was my wardrobe's lucky day...as for my wallet's, not so much. Happy Monday...and hooray for two day work weeks!
