Nicely Nautical

I love, love, love the nautical stripes that are going on this season!  This spread from Vogue Japan takes it to a whole new level.

Killer Combo

This orange and camel color combination is perfection!  The dose of color coupled with a neutral in Zara's Spring Ad campaign is right up my alley.

Style Rut

Hello again friends..I apologize for my absence lately!!  I was on vacation, and then returned home to a rainy gloomy New York.  Coupled with that I have been less than thrilled with the Spring styles that are out there.  I'm more of a neutral kind of girl, and all of the color blocking is a bit overwhelming for me.  I am kind of embarrassed to admit this because I do LOVE color...but since moving to NYC just don't feel comfortable with the idea of wearing a lot of it.  Finally today I came across these pics, which illustrate the look I have been imagining for spring.  I think this little bit of inspiration has put me back on track!

Beach Bound

I'm headed to Barbados at the end of this week for a much needed rest.  Although the beach usually means a more colorful wardrobe, I am a true New York City girl at heart.  It is still black for me.  So items similar to these will accompany on my trip to keep my ghostly skin from burning.

Haircut

I'm thinking about changing it up and getting my hair cut like Patti Smith in her early New York days.  I think it would be the perfect start to Spring!  Did I mention that I am totally smitten with her book Just Kids?  What a beautifully written account of young love and companionship.

Obsessed

It all started when the makeup artist at a photo shoot reignited my want for a pair of clogs, specifically lace up boot clogs (if that's what you call them.)  She even let me try them on, which totally sealed the deal.  That night I found the black ones on sale and ordered them immediately.   I have been wearing them non-stop since they arrived on my door step, which made me crave them in a second color.  Alas, after the black there is no way I would have enough funds for a second pair!  After presenting a pretty convincing argument, my sweet graciously handed over his credit card so that I could have them as a birthday gift.  Love him!

Warmth

Christopher Bailey really nailed it with Burberry's Fall '11 coat collection.  I love the silhouettes and great colors!  If NYC wasn't still so frigid, they would almost make me wish for cool temperatures.
